Main components of a continuous monitoring system based on EMA-4/4 and/or EMA-4/16 AE devices:
Computer: It can be of any kind with OS Windows XP / 7 / 8.1 / 10 (all versions), with EMA-4 software installed. It can be placed nearby or even very far from the monitoring system’s cabinets.
Cabinet: Industrial enclosure of needed dimensions, material, protection category, and with required certificates. Saving from direct sunshine is recommended.
Sensophone EMA-4/4 and/or EMA-4/16 devices: In any combination, according Module coding rules. Devices can be housed in several cabinets.
Networking equipment: Optional – Ethernet switch, router, optical / WiFi / 3G Mobile / PowerLine adapter – as needed. Powered from local power supply.
Power Supply: It is mandatory for the cabinet of the leading EMA-4/4 or EMA-4/16 device. It can be a simple wall adapter or non-interrupted industrial power supply equipment with solar panel input and accumulator back-up – as needed. Similar solution is possible for powering cabinets of “midway” EMA-4/4 or EMA-4/16 devices.
Ethernet patch cables: of quality Cat5E or better. Length is from 0.2 m up to 100 m. Take cable parameters into consideration when you are planning the powering system!
Sensor cables: For each AE sensor. Coaxial cables 75 Ohm of needed length up to 100 m. In special cases the length can be up to 300 m, too.
Preamplifiers: For each AE sensor. Installed at the sensor’s end of the sensor cable or built in to the sensor itself. Powered from the Sensophone EMA-4/4 and/or EMA-4/16 devices. Power voltage is +7.5 VDC. They have sensor-test possibility.
AE sensors: Piezoelectric detector with or without built-in preamplifier and/or fixing magnet. Used with appropriate contact material/glue and fixing method.
